| New South Wales: NSW Policeman Charged with Bribery |
A CASE involving a Sydney policeman accused of receiving nearly $18,000 in bribes from a private investigator has gone before court.
Senior Constable Stephen Richard Evans, 47, has been charged with 43 counts of receiving a bribe. In documents tendered at the Downing Centre Local Court, prosecutors allege the officer was paid a total of $17,900 over three years. He is accused of providing information in exchange for the payments and has been suspended from duty. Janice Seeto, 50, has been charged with 43 counts of giving a bribe to Evans and one count of offering a bribe to another officer. The case will return to court later this month.
