The Premier said he did not know why the police (Association) would look to establish a new political party for the emergency service unions when there were now 1400 more police and significant new police stations. "The reality is that we've made very large investments as a government in emergency services, so I'm not sure why people would do that", the premier said.

Well the answer is easy; the Government has not done enough to pacify the police in their pay claim and not done enough in pursuit of public safety or police resources....
