Ms Nixon said under the deal police who had left the service would be re-employed part-time to work in busy periods such as Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

It might just be me but what is the go with this...... ?

Part time ex members employed for busy periods ??

I mean....... come on...... some ex member working part time like a "rent a cop" night shift security guard? Most diligent current police members are flat out keeping up to date with policy, procedures and paperwork...... how is some part time ex member going to seriously detect crime, arrest and process law breakers and offenders? Particularly on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday night - this is when all the trouble goes down! It is like something out of "Police Academy - Citizens on Patrol"......

It must be nice having the uniforms out there to make the public feel safe - but at some point, they might actually have to DO something..........

Maybe we need to ask the 300 pound drunken phycopath his views on the "Women in Policing Conference"?
